News from Xai-Xai

Greetings from Mozambique!

The team from Celebration has arrived safe and sound!   We had a great Sunday here in Maputo. Our team conducted the services at the Healing Place Church Maputo Campus. The sanctuary was filled with powerful worship, salvation, and healing. There were also nearly 200 children at service today as well.

After the service, our team spent the entire day preparing for our first of THREE Christmas parties that will held Duroc the trip. Between the three parties we expect over 1500 children to have a Christmas CELEBRATION!

After the party tomorrow, the team will travel to Xai-Xai and prepare for our work there which includes a youth outreach to launch the youth and young adult ministry of Celebration Xai-Xai. During this trip we will also be traveling about 5 hours into the bush of Africa to a small town called Makeze where we will be building a school & church facility. The children in this town literally have to walk 10 miles to receive education… until now! Thank you Celebration for your continued prayers and support to this great work here in Mozambique.

Pastors Mel & Diane Stauber are doing GREAT and are doing BIG things for the Kingdom Of God here. Keep them in your prayers as well as our team for the remainder of our trip. We’ll keep you posted Church!

Jesus is ALIVE in AFRICA!

NO SERVICE Wednesday the 24th
* HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Vision:
Luke 19:2-5 “Now behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax collector & he was rich. And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short stature. So he ran ahead & climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, for He was going to pass that way.”

What made Zacchaeus so attractive to Christ?  First, he was hungry to see Jesus. Even though he was a wealthy leader, he wanted more.  Secondly, Zacchaeus overcame every obstacle – he was a make-it-happen guy. Jesus is going to pass our way today.  Let’s be like Zacchaeus & hunger for more of Him, doing whatever it takes!

Vision:
Luke 2:25, 27-28 “And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon, and this man was just & devout…So he came by the Spirit into the temple. And when the parents brought in the Child Jesus, to do for Him according to the custom of the law, he took Him up in his arms and blessed God.”

Simeon entered the temple – the House of God, the church – with a right Spirit.  A right spirit allowed him (& allows us) to see the right things, to say the right things & to do the right things.  A wrong spirit will miss opportunities.  Guard your spirit.  Serve with a right spirit & be ready to see salvation & to speak God’s hope to people!

Updates from Romania

This Sunday, Celebration Church sent a team to Romania.  We are so excited to hear about the many doors God is opening for Celebration to truly minister in that area.  As we receive updates, we’ll post them here for you to keep up with our team in Romania.   Please pray for God to bless the leadership and all the people the team encounters in Romania.

Days 1-2

From Pastor Shawn Bouldin, Romania Trip Leader

Right off the bat, our team was given the opportunity to speak at a 3-hour workshop for missionary families at the Campus Crusade headquarters in Romania and we were even able to meet with the National Director of Campus Crusade for Christ.

Campus Crusade missionaries in Romania are facing many challenges as they reach this country for Christ. They have a tremendous workload and are doing amazing things with their limited staff. The local church is almost non-existent, with only a handful of church partnerships in the area, so many new believers find themselves in need of a healthy church body to get plugged into and continue growing.

After hearing the vision of the missionaries and some of the challenges that stand in their way, we were able to minister to them, encouraging them to continue their very important work here in Romania.  We are so grateful that Celebration Church is able to bring the much-needed support to these incredible leaders.

The Campus Crusade for Christ ministry is reaching tons of new believers and is looking to develop stronger discipleship programs. Inspired by a visit to Celebration’s School of Ministry last year, Campus Crusade Romania plans to establish their own school of ministry this November to further disciple new Romanian believers as a way to disciple them and help them to continue to grow in their faith.  We were encouraged to see that our church is making an impact in lives around the globe.  Their vision is to have at least one church partnering with them in each of the cities they reach. One of the challenges that makes Romania difficult to reach for Christ is that more than 80 percent of the population is Orthodox and has great distrust of the church. In light of this fact, we are so honored to bring a glimpse of the love of Christ to Romania and are honored to encourage the leaders here.  We can never forget how important these trips are, not only to us, but the missionaries who serve each and every day along with all the lives that are being impacted here.

The word is out that Celebration Church is here, and many of the nationals are especially interested in finding out more about the reasons why we place such high importance on the next generation.  As the Kids Pastor, I’m excited to share our heart for families with some of the leaders here.  The National Director of Campus Crusade wants us to meet his Senior Pastor and wife to talk to them about next generation ministry in Bucharest. The team is good and we are looking forward to the work we have to do here! Thursday we head to the mountains for orphan and village ministry.  Thank you for your prayers.

Vision / Information / Prayer
Sunday, October 24th (B Team) & Wednesday, October 27th (B Team)
Next Sunday, October 31st, is a B-Team FIFTH SUNDAY.

Vision:
Jeremiah 17:7-8 NASB, “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord & whose trust is the Lord. For he will be like a tree planted by the water that extends its roots by a stream & will not fear when the heat comes; but its leaves will be green. And it will not be anxious in a year of drought nor cease to yield fruit.”

Christians bear fruit in a land of not-enough time / money / friends / energy / happiness. How?  By planting ourselves in the House of God & trusting the Lord.  Serve with gladness / peace / confidence / love.  Why? Our God is MORE-than-enough!  In the toughest times, you will flourish.

Information:
Baptism THIS SUNDAY October 24th – Have you been baptized since believing in Jesus?  If not, join us for a 3pm class (2nd-5th graders’ 3pm class called “Faith Celebration”) & 4pm baptism. Invite your family & friends; we’ll celebrate with you!

Halloween Outreach October 31st – Two ways to get involved in this exciting outreach: 1) Pick up a packet of baggies to stuff with Celebration Church rave cards & your very best candy to hand out to trick-or-treaters! 2) Donate candy in the Serves barrels across campus for the citywide outreach.

Prayer:
Lord, not only do we put our trust in You, YOU are our trust.  We plant ourselves in You & Your House today – use us to show Your people Your great power.  Help us lavish Your fruit (love / joy / peace / patience / kindness / goodness / patience / gentleness / self-control) on those we serve.  In Jesus’ name.

Vision:
Exodus 18:17,18…21 NLT
, “’This is not good!’ Moses’ father-in-law exclaimed. ‘You’re going to wear yourself out—and the people, too. This job is too heavy a burden for you to handle all by yourself…But select from all the people some capable, honest men who fear God and hate bribes. Appoint them as leaders over groups of one thousand, one hundred, fifty, and ten.’”

Moses’ family to could see that he was weary from work.  Are you weary?  Jethro’s advice to Moses wasn’t, “Quit!” but, “Find people to work with you.” God’s advice to us isn’t, “Pull back,” but, rather, “Go forward with others!” Who are the capable people God’s positioned around you who are waiting to be included in the work?  Invite them inboth you & they will be better for it!

Serve Saturday

Flood relief mobilization in Round Rock going strong.
Loads of volunteers!

Wow! What an amazing to last two weeks! The first official day of interns starts with rain, rain that then later became a flood in Central Texas. The flood affected over 60 families in the Round Rock community alone. Celebration Church was a first responder to the disaster. For four days our interns and amazing volunteers from the church helped families move furniture, tear up carpet, and help rebuild what they had lost. Many of the families that we served attended our service on the following Sunday. On our first Serve Saturday, we had over 400 people serving at the flood homes and homeless outreaches. We also took part in a huge garage sale for a maternity home. We gave food to our service men and women, and handed out Shoes to people who did not have any. Celebration Church is doing a great job serving our community, and affecting the lives of the people around us! We could not do it without all of our awesome volunteers!

Interns Mobilize! Going back into flood zone! Affecting affected families.
